We stayed there in Jan 2007. they were doing a lot of construction on our floor. There are rumors the place is haunted. It does have a creepy feel to it, like someone is in the room with you. So much so that we were looking behind the mirrors for spy cams. Thats how much it felt like someone was there. Maybe it was our imagination but a cab driver also told us that its rumored to be a haunted hotel. I never felt like we were in danger and I'd probably even stay there again. It's within a few minutes walk to SM and Session Road. You can find a lot of good places to eat in this area and its easy to catch a cab. We ate at Don Henricos and the Sizzling Plate several times while we were there. I'd highly recommend both. Beware of snatchers and hustlers in this area and in and around Burnham Park. They know this is where tourist and foreigners go and they are on the look out for someone who will drop their guard. We saw a snatch and grab, as som young puks grabbed a lady's purse and ran while bystanders watched.
